My name is Cate Luckey. I am a mother of four, neurodivergent, and shaped by lived experience, curiosity, and care.I value gentleness, honesty, and presence, and I believe that real connection begins when we feel safe and seen.My perspective has grown through parenting, listening, and learning alongside children, and through noticing how deeply our nervous systems shape the way we move through the world.I am guided by compassion rather than perfection, and by the understanding that every person experiences life in their own way.I live in Kerry, Ireland, where nature, slowness, and community continue to influence how I show up in the world.

My work is rooted in Emotional Health and Mindfulness, guided by the belief that trust always comes before knowledge.Experience has shown me that expertise alone is not enough. Meaningful change happens when children, families, and groups feel understood, respected, and emotionally safe. Trust, empathy, and genuine connection form the foundation of everything I do.My professional knowledge is deeply enriched by these values. It allows me to respond thoughtfully and flexibly, rather than applying fixed methods or one-size-fits-all solutions. There is no standard approach in my work, each child, each family, and each group is met as unique.I work with children, teenagers, families, and educational settings in ways that are neurodivergent-affirming, emotionally informed, and attuned to individual needs. Whether in workshops, courses, classrooms, or smaller group settings, my focus remains on creating calm, supportive environments where growth can unfold naturally. My work adapts to the people in front of me, not the other way around.
They are not separate from what I do, they are a natural extension of it. Through stories, characters, and gentle language, they make emotional health and mindfulness accessible in a way that feels safe, relatable, and human.Feelings are at the heart of my books, because they are at the heart of everything else. In mindfulness, in neurodivergence, and in everyday life, emotions are often the starting point from which understanding, regulation, and connection can grow. Each book is created to support children in recognising and exploring their inner world, without judgement or pressure. They invite curiosity, empathy, and emotional literacy, for children, families, and those who accompany them. While one book has already been published and others are currently in development, they all share the same intention: to offer stories that support emotional awareness and create space for reflection, connection, and growth.Stories can open doors where explanations fall short.

My courses and workshops are shaped by presence, responsiveness, and care.I offer mindfulness-based courses and workshops for children, teenagers, and families, as well as for schools and early years settings. Each space is created to support emotional safety, regulation, and connection, always adapted to the people in the room.My work includes family courses, sensory-informed sessions, and group workshops that honour different ways of experiencing, learning, and engaging. Rather than following fixed programmes, each course is shaped in response to individual needs, group dynamics, and developmental stages.Throughout the year, I also develop and offer specialised courses, including sensory and mindfulness-based support for children with ADHD. These sessions are created with care, flexibility, and a deep respect for neurodivergent experiences.Whether working with a class, a small group, or a family, my focus remains the same: creating calm, inclusive spaces where children feel supported, understood, and free to engage in their own way.

Emotional Health, Mindfulness & DirectionCate brings together lived experience, emotional awareness, and mindful practice.
She holds the vision of the work and is responsible for both its emotional integrity and its practical structure.Alongside creating safe, supportive spaces for children and families, Cate also oversees the technical and structural foundations that allow this work to be found, accessed, and shared with clarity and care.

The monster family is an integral part of my daily work.
Through imagination, story, and emotional representation, they help children connect quickly and naturally, often reaching them before words can.By externalising emotions, the monsters offer children a safe and accessible way to recognise, explore, and communicate their inner experiences. This creates a strong foundation of trust and allows connection to form gently and without pressure. They support emotional awareness, regulation, and communication, especially for children who find verbal expression challenging. In my work, the monster family helps create calm, supportive spaces where children feel understood and free to engage in their own way and at their own pace.
